Tokyo Quake Rattles a Few, Including President Obama

An Earthquake with a 4.1 magnitude rattled a few unsuspecting visitors in Tokyo, including President Obama.  The Quake happened around 4:30 am Friday. A few members of the White House Press Corps who were either up and working, or having difficulty adjusting to the time change, felt a quick jolt that lasted for no more than 2 seconds. White House Press Secretary Robert Gibbs said he felt it. President Obama was awake and reading briefing papers and was not disturbed. The President and the White House reporters traveling with him are staying at the Hotel Okura, near the US Embassy in Tokyo. No damage or injuries were reported. Low-intensity earthquakes are fairly common in Japan, due to its proximity to the Pacific Rim of Fire.
